Psychology of Entrepreneurship

Nov 26, 2020

Entrepreneurship is about a lot of things. It’s about ambition, drive and, yes, it’s about money, too. But above all, if it’s not coming from the heart, it means nothing.

This is The Psychology of Entrepreneurship,

a highly produced, revealing audio docuseries that follows me, Ronsley Vaz, and my guests, as we strive to go inside & unravel the inner workings of the mind of an entrepreneur, artist, athlete, academic; to decipher what is the psychology of our decisions.

If you are an entrepreneur (BTW we consider that mothers are the original entrepreneurs) and would like to understand why we do certain things in certain situations, and if small changes in thinking can deliver massive amounts of results in success and happiness, then this podcast is for you.

We’re mixing it up for you a bit in this one. This is our very first “uncut” volume. There’s a lot of work that goes on behind the scenes making this audio docuseries. We put things together in quite a unique way, which means, unfortunately, we can’t fit everything into each volume. I find myself wishing the audience could get the entire context of the conversations I have with these amazing guests. So for that reason, we’re presenting our first uncut volume of David Cohen. Through this organic format, you really can get a sense of what this man is all about, and what he stands for.

Startups are art.

David is Co-Founder, Managing Partner, and a Board Member at Techstars. This worldwide network mentorship-based startup accelerator helps entrepreneurs succeed by connecting them with the right people. The Techstar experience has been so valuable and unique that they even made it into a reality TV show on Bloomberg TV. David has been an entrepreneur and investor all his life. He’s founded and invested in some of the world’s more prominent startups such as Uber, Twilio, SendGrid, FullContact, and Sphero. Collectively, his 2,000 company strong investment portfolio is worth more than $100 billion in value.

So, yeah, David knows his way around business and start-ups. But at the heart of all his success, is his character. In this conversation, you hear me pick David’s brain with a whole list of topics. They range from why he started some of his earlier businesses to how he defines success. But it’s not really the questions that stand out. It’s David’s answers. This man leads with his heart, and it’s pretty blatant throughout this interview. Take a listen, and learn why at the end of the day, you get what you give.

Other great things in this Volume:
  • Why David’s drawn to start-ups
  • David’s definition of success
  • Center Flow and Co Flow
  • Why even the highest performers may not fit in with your brand
  • Why mental health is such an important topic for David
  • The role luck plays in entrepreneurial success
  • #givefirst
